Governor Jeff Landry has announced the appointment of Claude Tremblay, PT to the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board, effective October 11, 2024. Dr. Tremblay was chosen for an At-Large position left vacant at the end of former Secretary/Treasurer Kathryn "Katie" Brittain's, PT, MBA term. This is Dr. Tremblay's first term.
Pursuant to §2403.B, the board is comprised of 8 members appointed by the governor of Louisiana and confirmed by the senate. Board members may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
Claude Tremblay Bio:
Dr. Claude Tremblay was appointed on October 11, 2024 by Governor Jeff Landry. Born and raised in Quebec, Canada, Dr. Tremblay began his professional journey at McGill University in Montreal, where he studied biochemistry before pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy. In 1995, he was recruited to join West Jefferson Medical Center in Louisiana, laying the groundwork for his impactful career in the state.
In 1997, Dr. Tremblay joined RehabXcel in New Iberia, becoming a co-owner in 1999 and eventually the sole owner. Alongside his clinic work, he served as a Sports Medicine clinician for over 15 years, supporting both local high school athletes and professional teams, including a position as rinkside clinician for the Louisiana IceGators hockey team from 1997 to 2000.
Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, he returned to academia in 2000, earning his Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT) in 2002. Shortly after, he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation, achieving a Doctorate in Physical Therapy with a specialization in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. Further enhancing his therapeutic skill set, Dr. Tremblay obtained Certification in Dry Needling (Cert. DN), broadening the scope of his
care.
Fluent in both French and English, Dr. Tremblay values his bilingual abilities in serving South Louisiana’s diverse communities. His commitment to his profession, dedication to community service, and lifelong pursuit of excellence will serve him well as a member of the Board.
Dr. Tremblay's term expires on October 10, 2027. The Board members and office staff all look forward to serving the state of Louisiana with him in their mutual goal of protecting the public.
