Recovering Physical Therapy Program

The Recovering Physical Therapy Program (RPTP) monitors Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants referred by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board through confidential agreements and disciplinary actions. The RPTP was developed to protect the consumers of physical therapy services in Louisiana while allowing physical therapists and physical therapy assistants recovering from a substance use disorder and/or a medical, mental or physical condition to continue to practice while being closely monitored through a structured Participation Agreement. Although the primary purpose of the RPTP is to protect the public, it also serves to provide support and accountability as best practices for Participants to remain on their path to recovery.
