The Louisiana Physical Therapy Board is proud and excited to congratulate board member Dr. Phil Page, PhD, PT, ATC, CSCS as a 2025 recipient of the Turner A. Blackburn Hall of Fame / Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is to honor an American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy member whose contributions to the specialty of sports physical therapy through leadership, influence, and achievements have been demonstrated by frequent and sustained efforts for a period of not less than 25 years.

Dr. Page is a full-time professor and researcher at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (Fran U) in Baton Rouge. He has a Masters degree in excercise physiology and doctorate in Kinesiology from LSU. In addition to his physical therapy background, he is also a certified athletic trainer, and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. His clinical and research interests include biomechanical markers of pathology and performance, as well as quantitative musculoskeletal ultrasound. Another feather in his cap, Dr. Page is also an editor of the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. He teaches biomechanics, exercise physiology, gait analysis, research methods, and statistics, and sports physical therapy. 

Dr. Page has served as a board member for the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board since his first appointment in 2018. He was reappointed for a second term in of 2021. He has assisted the Board with the analysis of the initial results (2021-2022) of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) survey and continues to help analyze future results in order to provide a picture of the evolving physical therapy workforce.
