Governor Jeff Landry has announced the appointment of Lucien "Danny" Lewy, PT and Adam York, PTA to the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board, effective June 7, 2024. Mr. Lewy and Mr. York were chosen for At-Large positions on the board to fill the seats left vacant by former board members Tyra Mitchell, PT, DPT, MHA, CLT, CEAS and Raven Lyons, PTA. This is Mr. Lewy's and Mr. York's first term.
Pursuant to §2403.B, the board is comprised of 8 members appointed by the governor of Louisiana and confirmed by the senate. Board members may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
Lucien "Danny" Lewy Bio:
Danny Lewy was appointed on June 7, 2024 by Governor Jeff Landry. Danny graduated from LSU HSC - New Orleans and has been practicing physical therapy since 1992. He co-owns Lewy Physical Therapy, which was established in 2001 with the intent of providing the highest quality of physical therapy for patients in Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and the surrounding areas. Danny started his clinic with a passion to ensure that each location offered the best hours in the area and also offered customized aquatic to land-based therapy programs in order to provide the best solution for reduced pain and quicker recovery. Danny is thrilled to serve on the Board and gain leadership experience as the Board Chairman.
Adam York Bio:
Adam York was appointed on June 7, 2024 by Governor Jeff Landry. Adam is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. He graduated from Bossier Parish Community College and gained Physical Therapist Assistant license in 2007. In his 17 years as a PTA he has experience in Outpatient clinics as a treating PTA, Rehab/LTAC facilities as a treating PTA and management role, Home Health as treating PTA and Manager/Owner/Operator role, and Skilled Nursing with 16 years of experience in multiple roles of treating PTA, Director or Rehab, and Regional Management. Along with working with rehabilitating patients physically, Adam has spent years working extensively with wound care under multiple Physical Therapists and years working with and learning from Wound Care Specialists around the state, along with training Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, and nurses to ensure best collaboration of care. Adam brings a prospective, from his many years in Skilled Nursing, wound care, and management, that could offer an insight to questions or concerns in those areas from years of experience.
Mr. Lewy's and Mr. York's terms expire on June 6, 2027. The Board members and office staff all look forward to serving the state of Louisiana with them in their mutual goal of protecting the public.
