October 08, 2025 LAPTB Welcomes the Appointment of Consumer Member Benjamin Gaines to the Board
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, - Governor Jeff Landry has announced the appointment of Benjamin Gaines to the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board, effective October 3, 2025. Mr. Gaines was chosen to fill the vacant consumer member position. This is Mr. Gaines' first term.
Pursuant to §2403.B, the board is comprised of 8 members appointed by the governor of Louisiana and confirmed by the senate. Board members may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
Benjamin Gaines Bio:
Benjamin Gaines has been with Gachassin Law Firm and practicing law since 2011. He received his BS from Clemson University in Financial Management with a minor in Accounting in 2005 and his Master of Business Administration from Clemson University in 2007. Thereafter, he received his Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law in 2010. In 2022, Ben became a Board Certified Health Law Specialist with the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization and in 2024 he became the Managing Partner for Gachassin Law Fim.
His general practice involves healthcare transactions and regulatory matters. His areas of practice include purchase and sale of health care providers, representation of physician practices in corporate matters, counsel to all healthcare providers on federal and state regulatory issues, capital projects such as health care real estate developments, and reviews/negotiates employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, and general vendor relationships for healthcare providers.
Ben is a member of the Louisiana Hospital Association, American Health Lawyers Association, serves as Counsel for Better Business Bureau of Acadiana, Inc. and currently sits on the Health Law Advisory Committee for the Louisiana Board of Legal Specializations. He is also a member of Leadership Lafayette Class XXXIV and is currently in the Leadership Louisiana Class of 2025.
